The Adventure Collection: Volume One
The Adventure Company has announced the release of its first adventure collection. The package will include five games (Dead Reefs, Keepsake, Return to Mysterious Island, Nibiru: Age of Secrets, and Secret Files: Tunguska). It will retail for $19.99 and should be in U.S. stores soon, if not already.

Wii Adventures
Most Wii fans probably already know about
Zack and Wiki, but now another new adventure game has been announced for the Wii. This one, titled "
A New Beginning", is being labeled as an eco-thriller and will feature hand drawn backgrounds and traditional adventure gameplay. The game is being developed by the German publisher of Ankh.

The Return of Awesome
Sam and Max have had somewhat of a resurgence lately, with Telltale creating episodic content that harkens back to the day of old-school adventure gaming, starring our favorite dog and rabbity-thing duo. It's pretty widely known that Sam and Max started their adventures in comic book form, a creation of Steve Purcell, who later went on to work at LucasArts. These original comics are a great read, but lately have been pretty much impossible to find at anything lower than what a sane man would call a ridiculous price.
But rejoice, fans of talking dogs and hyperactive rabbits! With the recent rise in popularity, and to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Sam and Max, Telltale have announced that they will be re-releasing the totally awesome Surfin' the Highway. Behold!
This trade paperback is essentially a collection of all the early Sam and Max comics, when they were in their purest, craziest form. When this thing was fetching an astronomical price, I never would've suggested picking it up, but if Telltale actually comes through on this one, then every single being on the planet should buy this. It's simply a hilarious read, and there's nothing else quite like it. I mean, a wise-cracking dog and a psychotic rabbit. What's not to like?
So if you liked the first Sam and Max game, or the newer episodes, keep an eye on Telltale's site for one sweet bargain. Might as well pick up a copy of Season 1 while you're at it, it's totally worth your money. Support Sam and Max and spread the love. Just don't use the word acumen.
