It took me a long time to rank them. I definitely see what you mean.

The way I see it, if you pick favorites, you tend to expect a lot from that author and can be easily disappointed.

I've read V and Watchmen but what about "From Hell"? Is it good? Hell, knowing Alan Moore it probably is, but what's it about?

It's a graphic novelization of the pursuit and life of Jack the Ripper.

Interesting, got to take a crack at it some time. What's your take on it? Recommendable in comparison to V or Watchmen?

Well....question wasn't directed at me, but From Hell is decent. It's not really comparable to V or Watchmen, but it's above par. Definitely worth a look.

Anyways, my all time favs would be Stephen King, Robert A. Heinlein, Anne Rice, H.P. Lovecraft,  Erich Maria Remarque... and in the graphic novel/comic department woud be Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello, and Neil Gaiman.
