What I'm Watching v.4 (Review)

Shakugan No Shana (2005-10-05 to 2006-03-22)

     I was pretty hyped about this Anime, but it ended up a big disappointment for me. Not to say I didn't like it, because I did. It's just I didn't love it, like I thought I would have. I would put this in the same category as FMA and RahXephon where it was all hype, but failed to impress me liked I have hoped.

     The animation was great and the little details such as ambers floating around Shana when she's fighting are a nice touch. I thought Shana's flashback was way to long especially for a series with only 24 episodes. It should've been spread throughout the first 17 episodes instead of making it three consecutive episodes. I found Shana's "Hurai sai, hurai sai, hurai sai" (sp?) and Wirhelmina's "De arimasu" to be very annoying. It was cute the first couple times, but it got stale quick.

     After episode 19, you would think the great teamwork the three Flame Hazes showed would carry over to the last five episodes, making it a very good ending. But it totally went the opposite way, making the teamwork in episode 19 complete useless, which sucked because episode 19 kicked some series ass and it's just stupid as to why they didn't build on that episode. Up next Scrapped Princess.

Sound: 8.5/10

Story: 7.5/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

    I havn't really had a chance to properly go over your blog entry's. just wanna say that they are really good, helpfull, and very well layed out, nice one

    well now that i think about it, ur sorta right about the teamwork thing and i really agree with the flashback thing... but either way i still like this anime

    i heard there was guna be a movie in 2007 so after that they'l proly have another season which will hopefully tie up some ends from the first season
