Lego Star Wars to be completed on Wii and PS3

Toy line take on LucasArts' sci-fi series compiled, revamped for new systems; 360 and DS versions in the works as well.

Before Traveller's Tales can bring Lego Batman to gamers, it has one more tour of duty in George Lucas' Star Wars trilogy. LucasArts today confirmed recent retailer product listings and announced Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for the PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and DS.

As the name implies, The Complete Saga will collect the first two Lego Star Wars games to provide a full path through the six Star Wars films in one package. However, the game isn't just a straightforward port of the first two Lego Star Wars games.

Traveller's Tales is promising new characters, features, and levels for the game, including a re-creation of Episode II's flying car chase sequence with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell. Levels from the original Lego Star Wars game will also be altered to include features from the sequel, and the DS version in particular will be all-new, "developed brick by brick from the ground up."

Traveller's Tales is also tailoring the game to take advantage of each system's features. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will have online gameplay with drop-in and drop-out capabilities, while the Wii and DS editions will make use of those systems' unique control interfaces.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is expected to ship this fall.

LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga looks like a pretty good game even for the Nintendo Wii because you could use your remote as a lightsaber I think it will be really good.

hockeybum: They may've meant that the game's graphics are far more suited to the Wii, and on the PS£ they may look bad compared to the other games.

My only hope is that they have lightsaber controls using the wiimote. Sure, it won't work like the lightsaber game we allo dream of, but having that noise come out of the controller when you wave it would be fantastic!

i think he means that a lego based game isnt going to do the ps3's graphics justice, as evident with the 360 version, but the wii, which doent have great graphics anyway, so it could be overlooked.

It's an original series, but I always wait for the price to go down a bit or the rating to go up on gamespot, then I buy.If it turns out to be terrible(shouldn't be...)then I won't buy it.I'm not to excited but I'm not shunning it either.

Excellent. Lego renditions of Star Wars favs.......now in HD. Hopefully, they'll expand on the games. A free-roaming starfighter sequence in Eps I, III, IV, and VI would be nice, along with a control scheme allowing for freeform saber combat.

After spending the better part of several weeks doing nothing but playing LEGO Star Wars II for GameCube, you can guarantee that I will get this for the Wii and play it all through again. Nice to see the first set tarted up a bit too.

One of the most fun series to ever grace gamer's screens!

figured they would add characters and maybe some new levels/update old levels, and now that they are indeed doin that, this is deffintly a buy for me, i just hope they dont try to go with a $60 price tag, they would need to add alot more stuff to it if they think that price will fly

  • smidsy85

  • magicalclick

    Posted May 25, 2007 1:26 am PT

Not really interested. It is cool and all, but I already can play both versions on 720p resolutions. Since it doesn't use too much detailed textures, the BC plays it at the same 720p quality. I will just play my old ones.
