I have been an avid follower and fan of Rockstar games. Specifically the GTA games. When GTAIV came out it was a preorder for me. When TLaD was available on live I downloaded it the first day and I did the same with The Ballad of Gay Tony. Also I would like to point out that I do research my games before buying them and the problem that occured wasn't even a reasonable question to ask about.

I found out that if you buy EFLC you also get an additional radio station. I thought to myself, "that's crummy of Rockstar to do, when people like myself have bought content when it immediately is released." I got over it. It really doesn't matter that much but it certainly isn't cool.

I have a friend that just bought Episodes From Liberty City. We finally got time to play this weekend and the first thing we wanted to do was race in TLaD. We find out, online, that these games are incompatible. WTF! They are the same game on the same system and they don't work together!

It would have been helpful to the consumers if Rockstar had actually given us this information when EFLC was released, but they didn't. I finally found a small amount of info in the middle of a wiki page that says they are incompatible. After swearing about Rockstar for a good ten minutes I decided to ask some fellow users if there is any information out there concerning a fix for this.

Does anyone know if Rockstar is planning a patch to fix this problem? Or are they just going to alienate all the people that DL'ed these episodes? Any information or links to information is appreciated.

Fortunately for you The Ballad of Gay Tony DOES work between downloadable content and Episodes From Liberty City.

The problem only exists with The Lost and Damned and Episodes From Liberty City. Supposedly the difficulty has occured because the map on TLaD has been altered from the original version. Since they know what the problem is, it should only be a matter of time before a patch... if they ever intend on doing that.

However, Rockstar didn't even acknowledge they messed up to begin with. Maybe they are just trying to sweep this under the rug and not tell anyone.

Your best chance to get a real answer is contacting Microsoft or Rockstar. Phone them or e-mail them. We all have access to the same internet. If you can't find an answer on it, we can't either.

    That was a glib answer.

You should know better than to suggest contacting M$. Their customer service people know less than we do. I am still waiting on a response from Rockstar.

I suppose you weren't entirely unhelpful, at least you gave my thread a bump... thanks for that.

Most definitely don't contact Microsoft, you won't get a solution from them. Rockstar is the only one whom can tell you if it will be fixed & when.

I just received an email from Rockstar concerning the incompatibility issue.

The email stated that I will receive an email in 72 hours that may possibly answer my question.

Has anybody else gotten more information than me?

    Any help is appreciated.

This reminds me of what happened with Pinnacle Station conflicting with the Platinum Hits Mass Effect and Bring Down the Sky. I'd check Rockstar. Bioware's Quality Control guy did everything he could to keep us Mass Effect fans informed on what was going on. Hopefully someone at Rockstar will be doing the same.

I found it by typing in Google, "Rockstar contact." Then I clicked on one of the first links.

I was sent to a Rockstar page that asked for my name, email address and then my question.

I hope that helps and I think you may want to lodge a complaint as well. I forgot to do that part, but I will do it when I receive the news... if it is bad.

If anyone has any information concerning this problem it would help me and countless others, before they waste money(like I did) paying for an incompatible product.

It is important information which Rockstar opted to omit.

Does anyone know if there will be a patch available to correct this absurd issue?
