Im sure you all heard by now the potential bricking problems that can occur while updating the wii to 4.2 regardless whether you have hacking channels or not. I normally update my wii on a regular basis but im afraid to update this time. The only reason I haven't updated yet was because of problems with my internet connection so I guess I got lucky so far. Now i know that if my wii bricks nintendo can fix it for free but there will still be a period where i wont have my wii, and i've got roomates who love to play smash bros and mario kart.

I've only had to send my wii to nintendo once before due to the double layer disk issue with SSBB, so do you think i should try to update or wait till later.

the bricked wii's are rare, and are probably even rarer on the non modded wii's.

Seriously there is nothing to worry about people. Just update it

only 33% of wiis that update got the problem

Originally marketed as an all-American supercar using a Chevy designed engine and "tornado" transmission, the Vector W8 pulled the rug out from under both lambo and ferrari.

if you've never used any homebrew software, or modded your wii in any way, then chances of bricking are only as high as they were before.

I updated mine and nothing seems to be broken, yet.

    I wouldn't update if I were you

I mean there's obviously been an issue and while it's no big deal for innocent people to be punished you don't want to sign up as one of the people punished

If you have to update and your Wii gets baked then ehh, that's how the cookie crumbles. If you don't though why are you going to be the sacrificial lamb?

Then I guess I was one of the lucky few to be unaffected by this bricking of the Wii console.
