Mouse, Keyboard, Diablo 3

    I was reading an article on Tomshardware and they mentioned that the PS3 is compatible with a mouse and keyboard which might be a reason for Bliz to make the game for the PS3. Since I'm primarily a FPS gamer on the PC because of those two particular input devices and I avoid console FPS games since controllers sucks at aiming. I was wondering if many of the FPS games on the PS3 have keyboard and mouse compatibility. I would love to have a reason to get Resistance, and some of the other PS3 games. I think my PS3 would love to do something other then play blu-ray's.

    How I'd love Diablo III on PS3. I was a HUGE Diablo II fan.

    I never understood gamers' aversion towards console FPS, since I've only ever played FPSs on a console (N64, GCN, Xbox, PS2, PS3) I always thought dual-joystick aiming was perfect and quite precise, since I learned to play FPS with it. Anyway, to each his own.

    In a similar vein I actually feel as if Diablo 3 would be more immersive if played with a controller - through Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, and Sacred, I think developers have perfected the control setup for that kind of hack and slash and there's something nice about being in direct control of your character rather than pointing them to locations on the screen over and over.

    Will not happen. Ever. The last time Blizzard got involved with consoles was Starcraft: Ghost, which disappeared. It was supposed to be released for PS2 years ago, they never cancelled it, they just quit talking about it.

    Unreal Tournament 3 has great keyboard/mouse support.

    Yep, Starcraft Ghost was a bummer, as I was reallye excited about it coming out.

    ~sigh~ I was really hoping to start adding games to the PS3 and the FPS games are the only ones that look interesting. Too bad they weren't smart enough to set it up for keyboard and mouse. Especially with games that come out on both the PS3 and the XBox 360 looking a lot better on the XBox 360. I guess my PS3 gets to continue its job as a blu-ray player. Thanks for the help.

    You should get over the whole "FPS only with mouse/keyboard" obsession. Once you get the hang of playing FPS with a controller, it's really no big deal at all. I think Unreal Tournament 3 is the only game with mouse/keyboard support.

    As for Diablo 3, it would be awesome to get a PS3 version, but even it they did make a console version (which I doubt if it's gonna play as fast-paced as Diablo 2), they probably wouldn't support mouse/keyboard support because just about no one would use it.
