GTA V running on some miraculous engine (one can only dream) - well, here it is:

I recently downloaded the demo for Red Faction: guerilla. The destruction was decent. Better than most games anyway. That's when I tried to imagine the PERFECT video game engine. It would really use waay too much processing power, but maybe some day...

Anyway, to the point. The idea was combining many now existent engines.

    * 1 - The euphoria engine. As seen in such games as GTA IV, the euphoria engine proved that ragdolling could be a thing of the past, with it's amazing and extremely lifelike physics, as displayed on this demo:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae3fgj2x1aI

    * 2 - The geomod system. Although it could need some polish, it's the best dynamic destruction engine out there. It's stress based. With a little bit of extra work it could be amazing. It would be perfect for a dream engine
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa2D614o-HE

    * 3 - DMM or digital molecular mass would blend into the engine seamlessly. It has been seem on such games as star wars: the force unleashed, although not presented well enough... at all. This would be prefect with the geomod system. Here's a demo of it: (skip to 0:40)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bKphYfUk-M&feature=related

    * 4 - The fracture engine. With a little bit of polish, this environment bending engine would stand out as pretty awesome within the engine's capabilities:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-oafGm9HPo&feature=related

    * 5 - Dunia. Best. Nature. Engine. Ever. The one seen in far cry 2. Dynamic weather, times, animal life, flames, regeneration e.t.c. makes this a dream come true if mixed with the others.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMAqTXCd1Sg

    * 6 - How surprising... the CryEngine. Delivering state of the at graphics at a 22nd century level.

    * 7 - The source engine. It's moddable. It's simple. It's huge. Why not?

    * 8 - GTA IV cover system... no explanation needed.

That covers the main stuff. I could of course go into detail with other, smaller details but I won't. If you have a suggestion on how to improve it, be sure to post it.

My"dream games" are a reality (or soon tobe):

    • God of War3
    • Mario Galaxy
    • Halo3

I guess I'd like to see a new KOTOR as my dream game.

A Mechwarrior MMO... Like, a *really* comprehensive one. Huge areas, massive battles, Clan, Inner Sphere, mercs, Aerospace fighters, my beloved 65 ton Rifleman and the 35 ton Raven, the works.

A fully dynamic, open worlded, singleplayer or co-op FPS game. ArmA 2 is kind of this, but the missions arent 100% dynamic, neither is the campaign. If they wold take a game like ArmA 2, make the AI control every aspect of the war, that would be the ultimate game.

Halo 4. Yeah, lame sounding, but get this -

Master Chief is back. The poral he went through and collapsed deliberately sent him to "other Onyx". As anyone who read Ghosts of Onyx knows, its supposed to be a safe haven for the reclaimer once a ring is activated. Dr. Halsey and three SPARTANs are there after getting trapped inside. Other Onyx is the planet seen in the Legendary ending of Halo 3.

Obviously, MC plus the other three SPARTANs makes for 4 player co-op.

Other Onyx is not entirely functional however, as it isn't providing necassary protection from the outside or for the reclaimer. What follows is an epic story of survival and fighting off the massive sentinal army bent on MC's death. One scene is all I really need though. A giant expanse of field, with a big rocks for cover, and across the field is an enormous tower. This tower is sending out a sinal to destory Other Onyx, or something. A HUGE sentinal army has risen and is attempting to stop MC's advance at disabling the explosion. He sprints headlong into the massive sentinal army, but suddenly Cortana cries out "Contacts at our six!". Several Elite and Human cruisers slip in to the atmosphere, dropping out Pelicans, Marines, Elites, Warthogs, pretty much a counter army at MC's back. You see, they got the beacon Cortana previously sent out and sent again with a distress signal. Then, your in MC's shoes. You run into the massive army, shooting desperately. Oh, did I mention the Flood are back? Another new Gravemind comes out of the ground and scoops up MC. What follows is a massive fight with Gravemind, and you finally destory him. You make it into the tower, but barely; MC is dying. Rushing headlong into an army of Flood and sentinals didn't benefit his health. He crawls up to a terminal, deactivates Other Onyx, and dies, with Cortana whispering to him. Bring out the tears!

MC's funeral is held, and finally, you see his face. Ah, a fanboy's dream. Make it happen Bungie!

An MMO with near real-life graphics, combat moves with the style of the Devil May Cry series, sophisticated PvP system surpassing that of fighting games using the stylish moves mentioned. A deep immersive ongoing storyline that's relevant to the game regardless of your level. Huge variety of customisations for character appearances and assets owned including property. Side labour/crafting skills to supplement the game. And neverending content being added to it. Well, I can dream right?

Currently playing: Fifa 10, Dragon Age Origins, Assassin's Creed 2, God of War Collection, Heroes of Newerth, God of War 3 Demo (yes I play this through at least once everyday when I'm bored)
