I currently have the 500watt Earth watts PSU that comes with the ANtec Sonata III cASE. I need a new psu that has the same cables and has at leat 500w. My current psu is dead since my pc only turns on for a second and then turns off.

I have a ASUS P5KC MOBO, pny 8600 gts 256mb, 2gig of ram, a 400 gb seagate hardrive at 7200 RPM... Can any1 give me any suggestions for Power supplies that will work for me. I need answers fast cuz I'm bnuying the psu tonight.

Well when you say buy you could mean online also. As for powersupply if you don't want to spend alot I would look for the corsair 450w, antec earthwatts 430w, and antec basiq 500w

    I need 500wts or more....

I think these are the specs of my current psu:

Fans: 80mm low noise cooling fanPFC: Active

    Main Connector: 20+4Pin+

    12V Rails: 2

    PCI-E Connectors: 2 x 6Pin

    NVIDIA SLI Support: Yes

    Modular Cabling Support: No

I need something the same or better that works with my specs

The 8600GTS requires a powersupply with 18-20amps on the 12V+ rail and a 6pin connector. All those powersupplies I listed have at least a 6pin connector and can output over 30 amps so no you don't need 500w or more.......

I have a feeling that your PSU is still alive.

The mobo could be the one that is failing.

Have you tested installing your psu on another rig?
