This is in regards to innovative games, and Wii and DS.
Many gamers say that there are too many sequels, and that they want something "new." However, when they get something new, they complain. "I don't want teh motion controls to be teh standards! I am teh HARDCOREZ!!!1" It's the same boloney all over gain, just about each time. Some of us embrace new innovations, and don't just nitpick it. You can't have it both ways all of the time. A video game company isn't going to please everyone, and they aren't in business to make just YOU feel like a happy "true" gamer.
So, which is it? Do you want the trial and error of innovation and new ideas? Or do you want the tried and true of the monotonous and the well known?

Creating another Mario rehash and slapping wagglestick controls on it isnt my idea of new. Same holds for Zelda games. And any other rehashed game Nintendo has come up with.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
- I think the Wii's great and i'm glad there doing somthing different from Sony and MS. Wouldnt be as fun if all three companies felt the same.

I love how MGS4 and Halo3 are hyped as the best games of the year before they even come out, but Mario Galaxy is exactly the same as every Mario title before i.
I also love how new Nintendo IPs are conveniently ignored.

Yes, I like new ideas and innovative developers. This doesn't mean I'm not going to criticize them when they make something I see as poor quality. Not to mention innovation can mean a hundred different things, you're just using a blanket generalization. When one new idea is criticized it doesn't mean all new ideas are criticized. You talk as if innovation is the only exciting part of gaming while the tried and true is boring. I respect you opinion but disagree with you 100% as a good game is a good game.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

If you ask the majority of people that complain about Nintendo rehashes what they are looking forward to, most every game they mention will be a sequel. Hypocrites? Absolutely. Nintendo has been around a LOT longer than Sony ans MS, so you have to expect more sequels. Sony is famous for pumping out a sequel evry year to year and a half for some franchises.- Please wait. I think that is ultimately the issue. The old ideas work whereas the new ones are often only novel because they are new, but not necessarily well executed.
Now if the new ideas were well executed or even superceded the old ones, would I turn them down? Hell no!

Gamertag: GhostMLD Add me, well have some fun. But don't expect me to act like I do on SW.
DS is new, shame on anybody who complaines about it. Ds is amazing.
Wii however, took a dump on the hardcore gamer and catered to the casual.

Yes, people love to complain. They scream and yell that they want change, then when change arrives, they whine like children who didn't get their ice cream cone.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Nintendo had nothing to do with the creation of M&ms Cart racing or Bubble Pop. Smash is on its 3rd game in 7 years. Halo is on its 3rd game in less time.

There hasn't really been enough change as far ast he wii goes. The wiimote is still being used as an extravagant button, and not a lot of games are taking full advantage of it. Those that are beginning to are all first party Nintendo title, and even then they're still lacking to some extent.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness
experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life
is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom
with the weather."lol I want change but for the better, evoltionary change, wii just added waggle and casualized games, that isn't anywhere near where I want gaming to go.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

for all of us that think that gameplay is more important than visual presentation, the wii still represents a great potential gaming machine. For the life of me I do not understand why the wii is called last gen when I could easily turn that argument around. The wii has motion sensing and an IR pointer for God's sake. Motion sensing has mixed results, granted, but there is still a whole lot of things it can do. The ps3 and 360 are basically the same consoles as last gen, only prettier.
Maybe GTA4 will change my mind, because IGN said it couldnt' be accomplished with state of the art physics and AI, which I have yet to see in any game on the 360 or ps3 this gen.

- Apr 26, 2008 12:20 pm PTUm what I wanted and originally expected out of the Wii and DS were deeper gameplay experiences through the innovation. Instead all we've seen is everything move towards simplified casual garbage. I wanted something new and they went in the opposite direction.

Not at all, actually. Yes, a good game is a good game. For example, I wish that the industry would make more great quality traditional platform games like the games on the N64/PSone. Though, I embrace new concepts, especially from Nintendo becaue their games are very fun and the innovations can make the games even more exciting.:D
