Nintendo DS Recommendation Thread
ALL DS RECOMMENDATIONS IN THIS THREAD.
If you want an opinion about which game to get, this is the thread to post it in. If you are going on vacation and want a good DS game, but don't know what to choose, post it in this thread. The DS forum is cluttered with too many of those 'recommendation' thread when we have a big bold sticky thread for it right here! Also, all those x or y recommendations threads will now be locked and the user possibly moderated because those are recommendation threads too and belongs in THIS thread for example Pokemon or Mario Kart should be posted in here! Violate those rules and face the wraith of the Moderators
No, really. We need one. The DS has been around for about three years now, and in that time it has amassed a huge collection of games with something for everyone. This list is quite long, and for that reason I've included a "tag" system.
If you're looking for a specific genre, search for its tag (Ctrl+F in most browsers.)
For example, if I wanted a roleplaying game I would search for "RPG7," and it would bring me to the proper section!

Updates
v1.48- Dragon Quest V, Retro Game Challenge, and Big Bang Mini are going up today, and release dates are being updated. I'm going to have to add Fire Emblem later, once GS puts up the review. Then again, the Kirby Superstar Ultra review still isn't up. (HINT, HINT.)
v1.47- Holidays are over, time for another update. Today includes Chrono Trigger, Castlevania OoE, DragonBall: Origins, Civ Revolution, Bleach 2, Disagaea, Age of Empires:Mythologies ,Legend of Kage, Metal Slug 7, and Ninjatown. Also updating the release list and writing my own mini-review for Kirby Superstar Ultra, because GS hasn't gotten around to it after MORE THAN 120 DAYS.
v1.46- All right, enough procrastination. Adding Civilization Revolution, GRID, Bangai-O, N+, Dragon Quest IV, and Lock's Quest today. Also updated the upcoming games list.
v1.45- E3 is over, time to update the upcoming games list. Also adding FFTA2, FF4, Etrian Odyssey 2, et al. It's a busy time for RPGs.
v1.44- The World Ends With You is up, and I fixed more release dates.
v1.43- Today I'm adding Ninja Gaiden: DS and Nanostray 2. I'm also updating the upcoming games list.
v1.42- I finally got the better of my procrastination and I'm now adding Crystal Chronicles: RoF and Apollo Justice. A lot of games have been announcd recently too, I'll get those up here.
v1.41- Whoops! I forgot to add Professor Layton this past week because I've... been too busy playing Professor Layton. Fixed a couple of release dates and added a few games too.
v1.4- Fixed the tags, put back the mysteriously disapearing racing section, and added three new games.
v1.3- The Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings review is finally in, I'll add that now. I also updated the release dates (so many TBA 2008s make me sad.) I also just realized my tag system skips the sports games, oops! I'll fix that ASAP.
v1.2- The reviews are finally starting to come in. I'll be adding Contra 4, and Mario Party DS. I'm also adding The World Ends With You, formerly known as It's a Wonderful World to the upcoming games list.
v1.1- Adding DQM: Joker and a GBA list. It was suprisingly hard to picl only 20 series! I'm also waiting on the Contra 4 and Mortal Kombat. Don't make me wait too long, Gamespot.
v1.0- It's finally complete! There are still a few things to be done, but the meat of the thread is here. I also added Dementium: The Ward to "Action." In the future I may add accessories and the top 10 or so GBA games.

Though easier than it's predecessor (Jump! Superstars), Jump! Ultimate Stars is a large enough expansion that it is superior in nearly every other way and throws in Wi-Fi to sweeten the deal. It's highly recommended for anyone who likes anime, fighting games, or even just anyone who has a DS.
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

The wacky Japanese predecessor to the equally wacky Elite Beat Agents. Addictive and fully of catchy music you can't understand; but it doesn't matter-this one is all about the gameplay.
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2
Building on the zany humor, awesome music, and excellent gameplay of the first while including refinements added in by Elite Beat Agents, this is quite possibly the best game in the series.
Taiko no Tatsujin
Perhaps the cutest ryhtm game around, and with a spoonfuls of quirkiness and charm, the DS edition of the Drum Master series has an excellent variety of high-quality songs, great gameplay, and and is very import-friendly.
Got a spare GBA slot and nothing to fill it? While the DS library is already huge, you're doing yourself a huge disservice by not playing at least a few of these games:
Advance Wars
Astro Boy: Omega Factor
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Drill Dozer
Final Fantasy IV Advance Final Fantasy V Advance Final Fantasy VI Advance
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
The King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood
Thanks for making a new one of these because it was getting ridiculous how the other one was never updated but I know that you are dependable :) I recommend using pictures though. Probably just boxart for each game.
The value of a good game has less to do with how long the first playthrough takes than it does with whether or not the experience is worth revisiting later.
one thing though..
i think you should change the title to something else.. the "reccomendation thread" is people asking other people what games they should get, rather than one person writing on all the existing games.
Yeah, that might be why we had so many "which should I buy?" threads. I mean, with the old thread, you had the lists and then people constantly asking such questions. It got a little crazy with overlapping answers to overlapping questions. This could be a simple list of "Popular DS Games" or something like that.

Now up on my blog:Medal of Honor Heroes 2 gets a "Get Out of Jail Free" card
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
I have to thank you for making this thread. Hopefully with a more useful setup as this one, people will find this sticky a little bit more relevant and less obsolete, cleaning up the recommendation threads that keep on appearing in the board.
As I asked on the previous stickied thread, does anyone here own the DS browser? I want to know if it would be a good buy. I want to buy it and be able to post on the GameSpot forums with it. Has anyone used it to that effect and can anyone describe its functionality in that respect?

Well, this is a strange error, and I keep getting it.
Unfortunately, this is just a sort of text dump right now. It's unfinished and ugly, and I likely won't be able to work on it very much until the weekend. I just wanted to get it up and running. Sorry folks!
Until then, this thing is UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

I always get that error, I use firefox and the way i fix that error is i copy every text i wrote to a notepad(use Ctrl+C) because gamespot wont allow firefox users to right click and copy!.
Clear every text and start pasting them again (ctrl+V) I try pasting 4-5 sentences at a time and i use preview to check if the error is still there. I think i have an idea why this error comes up.

Click to check out The Board, where you can find such current and former Gamespot users as ff7fan2, jaydough, Cube_of_mooN, Foxhound_Fox, pintabear49blue, VGobbsesser, gameeer1, blackngold29, linkthewindow, frattracide, MoldOnHold, jmorey01, Gen_Warbuff, Fireball2500, USSJAndrew, krunkfu2, whoozwah, Idunn, Johnny_Stabb, lavadisk, and me.A larger font for the titles of the games would be much appreciated. As it is now, a lot of it runs together and is very hard to read.
Great job so far though.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
