Hats off to developer Harmonix and publisher Red Octane for dragging me, who by all rights - given my background - should have nothing to do with any aspect of this rock-music rhythm game, into Guitar Hero's nest. "New puzzle games, for the most part, emulate prior puzzle games but introduce a gimmick or two in an attempt to set them apart. Sometimes this is effective, but often the gimmick simply doesn't do a good enough job to distinguish the title from previous attempts with similar mechanics. Lumines is essentially a Tetris-style game at it's core, but introduces several new gameplay mechanics that work so well it's hard to call them gimmicks."

"I've played this game for many, many hours and I see no end to my enjoyment. All the unlockables, the multiplayer, and the "I wanna beat my high score!" feeling gives this game uncanny replay value. Meteos is exactly what a DS game should be. Easy to pick up and play, great multiplayer, innovative gameplay, and ultra addictive. I highly recommend this game, and it is a must have for every DS gamer, and if you don't have a DS, you should get one to just play this game."

"Overall what can I say other than amazing. This game hits every aspect of fun. Even though the story is kind of lacking you really don’t notice I mean do you notice the lack of story in a Pac-Man or Tetris game? Doubt it. Oh and try not to miss any of the humor it makes the game that much more enjoyable. So what are you doing? You should be rolling that Katamari and making stars."
