Not as bad as its made out to be

The Gamespot game space summary is spot on (no pun intended) but it certainly doesn't constitute for the incredibly low score. Is anything original about Pac-Man World Rally? No. In fact, its your average kart racer but your average kart racer is fun if you're into kart racing. Its also pretty cool to play if you're into Namco game and are familiar with many of their characters (Pac man, the Katamari guy, Dig Dug characters, etc). There are 15 different tracks (with short cuts) to race on, 16 playable characters (many unlockable), power ups, and a battle mode (6 different arenas). Yeah...nothing new, nothing special but none the less, its fun.
My Breakdown:
What's Good:
- Solid Kart Racer
- A big roster of Namco characters to choose from
- Fun to play with others
What's Not-So-Good:
- No real backstory
What's Bad:
- Lack of originality in gameplay
In all, it makes up in entertainment for what it lacks in originality. If approach the game with expectation of playing a kart racer, you won't be let down.
