The game is bad because it rips off Mario Kart?! The most pathetic excuse I've ever heard!
First, it's a stinking Pac-Man Racing game! And about time too! That's one reason I like this game, because it's about time they made a game like this. It features 14 Namco characters at their finest.
The graphics are among some of the best I've seen, and they PUSH Gamecube to the limit. The game's graphics are VERY well done (especially the Fun House level), and it's a smooth-running game, unlike others like Crash Nitro Kart.
The sound could be a bit better... as the music may not stand out as much as I'd thought. But if you do hear it... expect to hear some familiar tunes. (sigh) I think I have a bad case of nostalgia. But, seriousl, the music is pretty nice.
What I think lacks in this game is multiplayer... as they only allow 2 players at once instead of 4. I think that's what makes the game suffer quite a lot, and probably why it did get a bit of a bash because of it. Still, the multiplayr is pretty solid, and throws it back to the SMK days!
Ok, I will admit that this game is a rip-off of Mario Kart, that muc I'll admit. But does that make this game bad? No. The lack of difficulty and multiplayer hurts a bit, but it still features some nice innovative ideas that make this a pretty enjoyable game. The graphics are jaw-dropping and runs as smooth as silk! Oh, and by the way... anybody else Gamespot bashed Sonic Riders for its extreme difficulty and they bashed this for low difficulty. (smacks head) Can't people make up their minds. Rent this first though, because opinions on this game are FAR spread out. But if you enjoyed Super Mario Kart, this game will interest you!
