This is retro gaming done right! Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is a must own for any gamer looking for retro gaming.
At it's heart, this the same Pac-Man we all know and love. As the yellow ball guy, the player must eat up as many yellow pellets as possiblewithout getting eaten by ghosts. The gameplay is here, but a few fresh twists. The developers added sleeping ghosts to the game in which you must pass them to activate them. Doing this lets you build up combos which you can activate by eating a big yellow pellet in which you eat up all those monsters to gathered up. Needless to say, it's satisfying.
The goal in Pac-Man has always been to rack up high scores and Championship Edition DX is no exception. The way to build up high scores is by those huge combos you gain during the course of gameplay. There are leaderboards that show how you rank up against the world.
There are several modes including score attack which is a standard get the high score mode, and time trials, where you must reach a specific end point in the limited time period. You have several different mazes to choose from, and the interesting part is, you can completely customize the look of the character, the background, and the music of each maze. The game is some spectacular visuals which merge classic Pac-Man with a modern style we expect from an xbox-live arcade title.
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is just an overall excellent game that is very fun and addictive, but also an update that manages to keep the old classic gameplay while adding fresh elements and modernizing the visuals. At 800MP, Championship Edition DX is game you don't want to miss!
