Overlord see's you step in the shoes of an evil king, causing as much havoc around beautiful landscapes and small hamlets whilst completing quests which ultimately let you choose whether to be super evil or just plain evil. There are plenty of quests to do, though they cant be done freely at choice, and in order to progress in the game you must complete certain quests, so the games definitely not free roam and more linear.

Good Points-

Being able to control mass amounts of your own minions basically to do your dirty work, ransack every house in the game, lure villagers onto wheat fields then set it alight and watch them all burn, or maybe get your minions to slaughter fields of sheep.

The dark humor reminds me much of something that would come out of the minds of the people of Lionhead who made Fable and Black & White.

Lots of quests and jobs, and its a pleasure to do them in such colorful environments, mostly everything in this game is beautiful to look at, which is ironic due to the intentions of what your doing in the game.

Just good old fun, which there seems to be a lack of on the 360, most games are too serious.

- Bad Points

Camera angles, the fact i would be used to the right thumbstick changing the camera angle in most 3rd person games you dont get this, yeah its something minor, but if you want to look behind you, you cant do that, when you turn around your facing towards the camera and the only way to look forward again is by pressing buttons.

Sweeping minions, sometimes irritating to get the minions where you want them to go, and the selection between minions is... i dunno there was just something i didnt like about it.

The game clearly borrows alot of things from Lord of the Rings and Fable, not saying that most Fantasy adventure games don't borrow things from LotR since Tolkien pretty much invented the whole fantasy genre with his books but there were little things that just seemed like a cheap shot, for example:

The Halflings that live in houses built into hills, with tiny circular doors. The Halflings are small, quite podgy and barefoot... fortunately dont have hairy feet and their not friendly either. Overlord himself looks like Sauron, especially the helmet thats almost uncanny, and he runs an army of minions... orcs/goblins maybe? The comparisons to Fable are just the general look of things, the countryside, the towns and most importantly the villagers, which all talk with the Ol' accents very much like from the first Fable, also Fable was humorous despite its dark side.

The game is fun and very enjoyable, its flaws are small, but there are a few of them, which all add together into one, which effects how much you enjoy the game.
Its a definate buy since i got this from my local DVD/Game store in a sale for 4 games for £20.
