Overlord 2 has some issues, but it still is a great game, liked the first Overlord? You LOVE this one.
Let's start with the bad.
Overlord 2 has some issues with the camera, which is really anoying at times.
Minions aren't known for their intelect, so don't expect to much of it, they are, however, smarter then in the previous game.
The good,
Great humor, the stuff your minions will use as armor is still fun to see,
domination vs destruction (evil or very evil) actualy has some uses now, be it limited, no matter what you'll try, you'll have a great time and will enjoy the bonusses each gives, without noticing the downfalls, because it really adapts to your playing style.
One thing that really suprised me, was that there were less huge monsters, (they were still there, just less of 'm) and they were replaced by legions, soldiers in formation. Not just a group of soldiers your used to in the previous game, treat them like that, and say bye bye to your minions. Most of the time, the game will provide you with the tools to deal with the formation, but not always, so you need to think strategicly over how your gonna break them up. Brute force would still work, it would just cost alot of minions... and there is no dungeon this time to restock.
Forging was a bit of a bummer to me, no more choosing how that weapon would affect by sacrifacing different kinds of minions, no, just that weapon, with that effect, with somany of those, and somany of those minions.
Then again, i played trough the game with only 2 forged items, 1 of which im sure i could have done without if i wanted to.
The new abilities of your minions are great, the mounts are very cool. I just did missed a chance to use all of the mounts at the same time, but oh well,
Very nice is the possibitlity to resurrect minions, i got a favourite minion that died over 10 times but i just liked him so he kept getting back... only to die again though.
You can also see which minions you have, what their names are, what their level is, what their title is, (title depends on the stuff they pick up) checking this frequently doesn't give you a bonus or something, it just gives you a smile on your face.
in short, the game looks alot like the first overlord, but in the good way, they kept everything good in the game, and added more good stuff to it. Also kept a few of the bad things but all in all, its very, VERY good game.
