Overlord starts out with awesome graphical designs and impressive dialogue. The first few minutes teaches you how to play the game, after a while it eventually leads you to the castle's throne room where you gain your classic Overlord armor and weapon. And of course, basic minions. The combat is fairly basic, you have plenty of spells but only 1 type of melee attack which is unreliable. Most of the time you feel like your minions are more powerful than you, but that becomes untrue over time as you gain more powerful items. The story is hardly ever tuned in, you just go on random quests that involve anything from Evil Gingerbread men to Giant Robots, which is fine. The game is pretty short and easy if you plated before but the first time around its pretty challenging but you get used to it over time. The final boss had to be a huge disappointment to many, it ends with you fighting a dwarf who has almost nothing to do with the storyline. And after you beat him, the closing cutscene is...strange. And after that it just teleports you back to before you defeated him, so if you plan on playing for a longer time, try to stay in the earlier levels to have fun. It's not the best RPG ever, but its definitely not the worst you'll ever play.
