Charming but rather mediocre.

Overclocked is and old school point&click adventure and it does its job well, though it doesn't reach anything amazing. The story has promise but there should have been a little something more to make it really memorable and great.

The atmosphere and progress is interesting, for the most part I enjoyed this game. Flashbacks were a nice idea, not overused in games (yet at least) and they worked well with the plot. The game managed to be exciting and sometimes even a bit scary but luckily it never crossed the line to cheap scares and horror.

The biggest letdown was the main character. You could feel for him but he was just a too much of a cliché. Ex-military, dark past, divorce, anger issues... I think the protagonist could have been done better. He wouldn't necessarily have to be a different person but the approach could have been something else than the same old thing you've seen in dozens of B thriller movies.

Also towards the end the game started to lose the grip on me. It wasn't bad, it just didn't impress me. That could be said from the whole game really, yet there is a certain charm that makes me like it more than dislike.
