A fun game while it lasted, but not for the reasons you'd expect.
For starters, the game isn't scary, nor tense. You don't feel alone, you don't worry about the dark (because batteries for your camera are in every second room) and you don't care about the predictable enemies. This game is just like any other stealth game, but perhaps more predictable.
On the plus side, the story and atmosphere are quite cool. Just don't expect to do much else than outrun the same big bad guy a million times as you try to enjoy it.
Outlast looks good, but it plays like any other stealth game out there. It's short, fun for a little while, but not at all a horror game. I'm hoping amnesia mfp will be better.
All this said, it's quite cheap and not a bad game by any means, so pick it up if you want. Just don't be expecting to be having nightmares about it. Humans chasing you with weapons isn't unusual in gaming... I dunno why they thought it'd be scary in this.
