Tom Mc Shea changes his spirit energy for this superb platformer in this video review for Outland.
Such a brilliant game ruined by a ridiculously hard final boss. Come on, the final boss has 6 phases of life?! You gotta be joking me. The game was a walk in the park, then you get hit with something like that?! What a joke! Poor developer etiquette I say, to extend your play of their game.
@Otacon6669 dude, this game its amazing , but nothing its perfect so,still some little problems but nothing serious
I'm so excited for the retail release i only buy hard copies of games so with the exception of beyond good and evil i haven't played any of these amazing games
Couldn't stop thinking Ikaruga throughout review but played the demo on 360 and will probably buy once PSN returns so I can co-op with a friend. Lack of local co-op however is a real downer.
@JusticeCovert Yeah, I actually found that out a couple days ago when I played the demo. To me, the lack of local co-op is a bummer. Still looks awesome, though.
@uberjannie I simply said it is like Ikaruga, not that it is a bad game. I own Ikaruga AND Outland now. Love both games.
It's been 10 years since Ikaruga was released, I think it's OK that another game in another genre gets to use the same system to add another spin on it. By the logic of original/rip-off standards here, any game with auto-targeting would be ripping off Ocarina of Time. Rip-off has a negative implication, if a game uses a system in a new setting, it is at least to me completely justifiable and, in a sense, original.
I will pass. GS thinks everything in this game is new and has fresh ideas yeah right think again GS.
This game took the Red/Blue energy idea from Ikaruga ! Even though they aren't the same type of game, this idea isn't pretty fresh! but I'm buying this game anyway! @TomMcShea to @ElFlechero In places where you can't be rude, sarcasm is the ultimate insult, isn't?
@TomMcShea I like that you actually talk to people commenting on you haha. Good review man, I will check this game out for sure! We need more action side scrollers, come on Golden Axe remake!!!
@legenderysoldie Apparently you never read the review. Next time you try to call someone out, make sure you do your homework so you're not dead wrong.
@ElFlechero, If you ever find a LBP2 level comparable to Outland, please send me a message. I'd love to check that out.
It looks like a great game, with detail and level design. But it doesn't look like anything that couldn't be made with Littlebigplanet 2. Which isn't a knock against it in any way, more like a tribute to LBP2's creation tools, but if I want to get my fix of innovative side scrolling action platformers, I'll just play the latest levels on LBP for free. (when psn is back up of course)
@papereat I have a stack of post-its on my desk. I'll sell it to you for $150. Must be awesome if it's that expensive!
Reviewers of gamespot, apparently you never played ikaruga in the past, youre talking about the mechanic of changing colors like its a whole new idea. And also, donīt say that a game is hard or to long because most of the time youre exaggerating.
