Operation Flashpoint: Red River Interview With Sion Lenton

So. I was a big fan of DR. played throught it's campaign a few times on all difficulties. I saw this page's interview yesterday, and thought I'd actually try out DR again, but in full co-op (went straight out yesterday and bought a second copy for the 2nd xbox that we have at home). So-far, so awesome! Great fun. And it has definitely put Red River in pole-position of my "first day purchase" list. HOWEVER... I do hope for a couple of fixes... Sion, if your reading this chap, please do something about the lack of "last checkpoint" restart in co-op. working all the way towards the end of a mission, and getting your face blown off 5mins from completion... and THEN having to cover the WHOLE mission from the start again.. Easily becomes one of those "screw this, lets try again tomorrow" moments. Apart from that, I'm sold. definitely bagging Red River next week

really dose look like theyv thought about this and toook the complaints in to consideration iv been to war and know acsacly wat its like i know every 1 thought number 1 was very very hard may b sum people dint but that is wat it would be like just got to be sharp and react like u would in a real war

@DAMSOG sorry, I see what you are saying, and agree.

The graphics look pretty good compared to the really ugly Dragon Rising. Lots more color now, and better, more detailed draw distances like the mountains. The sunset looked beautiful. I really want this to turn out well, but I'm being cautious because Dragon Rising sucked.

The game looks excellent but the last trailer they had with the redneck guy speaking through the trailer was just horrible I hated it!!

@godonholiday Sorry mate but you misread me, I really like the first OFP on pc but the watered down 360 dragon rising version wasn't complete. Now he says they are making a console version better suited to the masses, bring back the hardcore, the one shot kills and get rid of the rubbish that black ops and modern warfare cough up, I want this game to be good I just dont want it to become another mass produced pile of @#$%.....

really looks interesting. Haven't gotten into any of the CoD stuff and most of the other games of that sort, mostly just disinterested. The emphasis on Co Op seems to be a good way to go, especially with all the dumb 12 year olds talking about humping your hampster after...

Guys most of you sound like CoD and battlefield,homefront,etc player. This is not the SAME! It's different it's suppose to be the consoles arma games pretty much

sounds like the developers are "dumbing" down the experience for consoles, for shame. Their is enough console shooters out there to fill a thirty round mag and the first OFP didn't impress so I wont be holding my breath for this one. With no ARMA2 on xbox looks like we are going to be stuck with generic FPS churned out at 12 month intervals, the start of a great franchise he says? they had better fix the co-op so that you can move more than 100 ft apart without your team-mates keeling over.

So many dellusional people taking their bait...I weep for the future of gaming...Then I remember Arma2 is still out there and I can't help but laugh. Enjoy your consolised "tactical" shooter, and i hope for your sake it works out of the box and requires no patches, because 4 months down the track they will drop support (again) and start work on the next abomination to taint the Operation Flashpoint franchise. Have fun feeling like you're better than the CoD kiddies, but remember, this game is aimed at the same audience, so you're not any better...

I hope this does well. Too many brainless FPSs and not enough tactical ones.

Does anyone know if the console versions will support split screen? That will probably be make or break for me. Op: flashpoint, the original PC military sim, no longer wants to compete with PC mil sims? I suppose ARMA has that market cornered.

I love my boy Sion, but he's gotta lay off the Kodiak dip and get those lower chiclets fixed. And bring back PvP while your at it, will yeh.

I'm just hoping the single player campaign mode is lengthy. I'm so sick of games with short campaigns.
