Operation Flashpoint: Red River User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Disappointing"
The developers missed the boat on this game.
First of all, you are not given full control of your team. You need the ability to place each individual team member in separate and or specific locations to be effective, not clumped together like a bunch of bananas. For example, Ghost Recon gives you full control of movement and tactical assignments of each team member, for a successful mission. There is not enough team command options to make this game realistic warfare. This game is like playing Need for Speed without a steering wheel.
The joy riding in the back of a vehicle, forced to listen to a melee mouth idiot, rattle on like the clatter bone of a goose's butt. No skip option for this was a bad idea.
The constant freezing, lost connections, Operation Flashpoint has stopped working, and sound bugs are unacceptable. The graphics are just so so.
This was not a well thought out game. Team members are as dumb as rocks, because you have no options to make them smarter. All the AI's are useless. Pac Man has more strategy and tactical options than this game.
In the real world, if our troops had limited options like these to co-ordinate assaults and defend positions, what language would we be speaking as of now?
This game is far from realistic tactical warfare. Those who disagree have never had "Boots on the Ground".

Overall a good game, but Microsoft managed to made it annoying to even look at the cover of this "thing".

Friendly AI is so idiotic that you'll start thinking they're enemies instead...

I don't care about graphics, they just failed as a sequel for OFDR realistic gameplay.

You got to follow Knox's 10 rules if you want to survive in this game.
