@ilisuez, I agree with STU_548, you are most likely refering to the tracer rounds. A bullet that contains either phosphorous or magnesium every 5th round usually so rounds can be seen as they go down range. Here is a link to a pic that demonstrates how much it can look like a laser beam when rounds are fired at hi rate, especially when fired from a SAW, which fires between 800-1000 rpm, depending on the gas setting.

Looks like it will either screw up really bad or be an A++ game

Plz let it be an A++

Perhaps this is a bit too modern. Last time I checked us humans hadn't developed equipment to fire laser beams from a rifle.

"I still play Operation Flashpoint to day sometimes it still is strikingly the most realistic game with guns in it, and I'm looking at this now thinking he he he its going to be a blast "

@majdvs i know what you trying to get at but i do believe that OFP2 will be a hit.

I know I started with saying that graphics are not everything, but it helps, especially if the game does have good gameplay. I feel that OFP2 has better looking graphics then ARMA2, in particular the lighting. Lighting in ARMA2 is somewhat flat, and there HDR lighting has some issues. Texture wise they both look very good. Someone here mentioned that the animation looked bad, I don't really see it but I would like to mention that if you ever watched the animation in ARMA2, it aint that good either. I did the helicopter training in arma 2, the instructer left me, stopped, did a 90 degree turn then went to the chopper, very mechnical. Don't get me wrong, I AM NOT an OFP2 fanboy. I weigh the pros and cons of the games objectively and find that OFP2 will most likely be more for me then arma2, but they are both great games and will buy both games. Flame me if you like, I don't care, this is my OPINION and if you call yourself someone who is proud to live in a free society you will grant me my opinion.

Now OFP 2 may have similier inaccuratcies, however my point is games are for fun, so just as long as there is enough realism to keep it real enough. Counter stike was a great game, quite relistic in most areas, but inaccurate and arcadish in others, still the game was alot of fun. So Fanboys, stop being fanboys and look at things objectively. I think ARMA 2 and OFP 2 are both great games, but I personally am leaning towards OFP2 becuase I feel it will be less buggy, have better AI, and overall be more fun for ME (don't like flying as a seagull for 10-20min when i die in coop, OH what fun, lol). Now as far as COD4 and other games go, they can be compared very loosely to ARMA2 and OFP2, as they are somewhat differnt genres. Better to compare to Frontlines or Battlefield as they have large open areas with both flying and ground vehicles, these elements really effect gameplay. Alot of the video we see for OFP2 is CGI, but alot of it is in game and you can tell which is. The video that I know is real gameplay still looks great, the interface for the AI looks quite good. continued next post

First of all I would like to say that graphics are not everything. There have been plenty of games in the past that have had beutiful graphics but once that novelty wore off then people went back to the games that had the best gameplay. For example when Farcry came out it was amazing with it's revolutionary Crytek engine, but people who played it would go back to playing Counter strike or other less graphic intensive games after they finsihed the single player becasue Farcry MP was not as good, less gameplay. Having said that I DO think that this game has some impresive graphics. More importantly I think it will have some decent gameplay too due to the size of the play area, destructible objects, vehicles and a fair amount of realism. It may be agrued that this game will not be as realistic as ARMA2, but remember why we play games, to have FUN,I personally am not training to be a soldier. I have played ARMA 2 but found that it too was not completly accurate either, not to mention having dumb AI and many bugs. Some of the weapon sounds in ARMA 2 don't sound like the real thing (was in army for 5 years). The Cobra gunships canon does not sound like a 30mm gun, but a small submachine gun, many other weapons that are larger caliber also suffer from this lack of bass inherent with large rounds. Also simple things like when you look through your binos, it shows the typical hollywood bino sillute, it is round when you look through binos in reality. Continued next post..

you don't have to be in the army to know what a gun sounds like... and it's called realism/immersion. makes the game so much more interesting to many people.
