I love this game! Can't stop playing with it! Much better than its older series! Totally new!
Onimusha continues its own story in this one too. Genma attacks the world and a chosen person becomes an Oni Warrior which is Onimusha and kills all of the Genma to save the world. It looks simple but when you play the game the story it gets much more longer and complicated such as Westerns join the evil league too.
As usual Onimusha was best in graphics, sounds, enemies and GC movies but the features are expanded in this one. You can play 5 different characters with different weapons types and fighting styles. This makes the game to get very interested rather than playing one major role. Each character has its speciality e.g. Soki (Blue Demon) uses great broad swords, quick in fighting and does great damage on the enemies. Speciality is Oni form which becomes the most powerful character in the game. Jubei or Akane which is Jubei's grand daughter uses shorts katanas very fast attacks does great damage sometimes. Speciality can go through narrow and dangerous places whereas the others can't do this. Ohatsu uses different types of firearms like rifle, slug, shotgun etc. Specialty can shoot enemies from a distance and uses grappling hook to jump other places. Roberto a Westerner priest very powerful in his punches and makes the enemies to cry. Speciality moves heavy objects, breaks iron doors and pull rusty levers. Finally Tenkai a Japanese priest (Red Demon) uses spears and cursed papers against the devils. Speciality is that he can talk to dead people to take key items or tell information about the place. Cool characters isn't it. This doesn't sounds something to you? Well this means that the game is also going to have lots of puzzles too which doesn't make the game to be Beat'm Up style. This game is totally Action Adventure.
Also the characters can have more than 30 different weapons with three different fighting styles e.g. 4 hits (normal but strong hits), 5 hits (very fast but doesn't do major damage) and 3-hits (very heavy but very powerful take even big enemies fall down from these hits) for Soki. You can buy them from the shops, make them from your friends by taking materials or find them on your way to the missions. As usual you can increase it power using red souls upto Level 10 finding different features like Ice magic Lv.3, Light magic Lv.3, Dark magic Lv.3, do more damage in combo moves by 20%, draws out more red souls, Ap +100 etc. This makes the game to be great. You can buy rings and necklaces to make yourself powerful or defensive. This makes the players to be interested with the game. Another option like Exprience make the players to learn new moves, combos, acquire power, more critical chains etc. So you don't have to press Square button to hit. You have make combos like in DMC3. So everything is totally new.
So I would like to say that this game is absoluately fantastic. It deserves to get 8 (or more). If you are looking for a game that lasts very long and it has lots of fun you better buy this game. Note; very addictive. Be careful with it.
