Not even close to the originals.

I became fond of Onimusha back when the first one was on store shelves in 2001. It was the first game I bought for the PS2 during that time and the only game that kept me up all night for hours without getting tired. Onimusha 4 on the other hand isn't all that great, most of the characters are terribly boring except for two. Tenkai is my favorite, I also like Roberto. The rest of the cast members were a waste of time. Jubei is the most annoying out all of them, she screams allot like those lousy anime characters in the cartoons that everyone likes so much (I hate anime). The other problem with the game is some of the places you have to play through. Allot of parts in Onimusha 4 were all the same if not the same at least similar to the same areas you've all ready seen in the past time of the game. Your forced to play at least two different factory stages that look exactly alike. I'm not a fan of the fourth installment. Onimusha 3 would have been better if it was Samanoske alone without Jean Reno. Onimusha 4 fails in my book. Its still fun to play, the criticals are easier to perform which is great! I couldn't stand trying to pull those damn special moves off on the harder difficulty when I was trying to unlock the important goods.

The graphics in Onimusha 4 aren't that bad. Somtimes the characters mouth don't always move, and the secrete costumes is Capcoms worst attempt to impress people. Tenkai out of all the characters had the best costumes hands down. The only street fighter outfit I liked was Guile's. The rest didn't look much like Street fighter what so ever especially the Ryu costume.

If there is an Onimusha 5 in the future, Capcom should return back to the classic Onimusha. Make it more like the first three titles. I never did understand why the good guys always looked like idiots and talked like stupid anime characters. If the japanese people can't do better than this, they honestly need a better way of doing things. Like Konami. They're the best gaming industry with the best series of games. Capcom your losing it.
