This is no God of War, but if you like GoW (and hack'n slash in general), you will most certainly enjoy this game

User Rating: 8.5 | Onimusha 3 PS2
Concept:
Go back and forth between Medieval Japan and modern day Paris and switch between a samurai and a Frenchman (aka Jean Reno!).

Graphics:
Well this not a brand new game and although the graphics are outdated they still hold up pretty well, the CG sequences are cool too. The environments are also quite pretty.

Sound:
Great music that keeps you going and the sounds are good. Problem is the voices: why do Jacques (Jean Reno) has a completely different voice when he speaks French vs English? And the villains voices are not that great either.

Playability:
The gameplay IS the core element, to parry and counter attack is essential and gives you more souls to upgrade your weapons, etc... Just wish he could move a bit faster at times...

Entertainment:
The story is OK but that kid, Henry, is annoying and appears too often. It is also kind of cheesy and as mentioned earlier the dialogue is not great. The fighting though is great and will keep you coming back.

Replay Value:
Finished in 15 hours (with cuts cenes) and came back for another round as there are hidden treasures and weapons.

Overall:
Improves on its predecessors (finally you get to use the Analog stick to move your character), an Ok story, good graphics and a great fighting system that will attract fans of Devil May Cry and GoW.
