If you can get past the controls, you'll find this a truly immersive and epic experience.

User Rating: 8.5 | Onimusha 2 PS2
The sequel to Onimusha is unquestionably the best game in the series, it improves greatly over the original, while keeping the "survival-horror game for people who don't like survival-horror games" factor.

You play as a noble warrior by the name of Jubei Yagyu, but as the story progresses you get to play as up to three other characters, all with their unique fighting styles and weapons. The gameplay is decent, but the controls really let it down. It plays like an old PS1 game, as it uses the D-pad instead of the analogue sticks.

In game graphics are solid, but the CG is really where its at.Of all the PS2 games that I've played (Including Final Fantasy 10), it has the most beautiful CGI that I've ever seen.

The voice acting is a little disappointing, as the English translation really dosent do the game justice.Unlike the first game, you don't get the choice of whether you want the Japaneese or English dub, which is a shame, as it really would have added to the experience.

The story mode isn't particularly long, it will take you around 8-10 hours to get through. After you beat the game, you'll unlock new difficulty settings, cinematics, mini-games etc. getting 100% may take you up to 15 hours, and thats not counting re-playing the game on other difficulties.

Overall, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is a worthy sequel, and could be recommended wholeheartedly to fans of the action adventure genre, as well as fans of the original.
