>>> well they aren't too slow considering the fact you still get hit in each mission, and this isn't the type of thing where healing or regenerating health is common. I remember in Bikini Samurai Squad, especially the later levels, taking more caution and spacing since health is very important and enduring the waves of slow enemies isn't always as easy as it seems.
If the enemies attacked any faster, I would guess a lot of people would end up getting creamed like the mobs of infected in Left 4 Dead.
Even Dynasty Warriors enemies don't attack often, well in easier difficulties, this is to let people enjoy doing combos instead of getting interrupted often (which leads to frustration).
it really isn't meant to be like your twitch evasive Bayonetta. And also, the larger number of enemies plus extra speed would overwhelm a lot of players.
This, like Dynasty Warriors, is really about kicking ass more than getting your ass kicked. :p And most people like it that way (how do you think DW still gets big sales and sequels? Most people like to hack n slash without breaking their controller. )
and besides, if you think slow makes them too easy, then try the higher difficulty levels, you'll take the enemies more seriously.<<<<<
------ Hmm, guess I could respond to this
Yeah Onechan does feel kinda of like a survival type game. And in time it can get somewhat difficult. Somewhat.
If the enemies attacked any faster, it would only push people to play better and take advantage of what had been put in the game. You can have different moves at hand, but you can literally just tap X most of the time if you feel like it.
And I must disagree, or point out your error on Dynasty warriors (DW), and I must also make a comment on Dead rising (DR).
I took the the time to play them.
When I played DW I was approached by a group of enemies. They attacked me immediately. They didnt wait, they didnt stand around, they attacked me. While I played the game some more I was attacked and hit more than once in mid combo. This never happens in Oncechan unless I am being very, very careless, which is one of the few ways to get hit by most enemies in the game.
Im not great at DW, and I wasnt great at Onechan when I first played it. However, even back then, I didnt get hit. I wondered, why are they standing there? And yes, I am familiar with hack n slash. At least in DW, I got smacked around a little bit, even if the enemies are push overs, they still are somewhat of a threat.
I never said Oncechan was supposed to be a twitch game, My point is at the very least they should attack a little more, to pose SOME kind of threat, rather then run up to you and stand there, do nothing, look around, then attack. This defeats the purpose of a zombie horde. And how is them attacking you going to "overwhelm" players? Its a zombie horde.
Speaking of zombie horde, Dead Rising is another game where the enemies arent so hard to kill, it smore about killing, them, however if yo get to close, they will atttack you.
I play Onechan on violent. I dont care for Berserk that much, I like playing it the normal way. I dont care to have my health drained.

>>This is mainly because unlike DMC or Bayonetta(which I have played both quite extensively), you fight ALOT more enemies in this game than you do in both of those. If you make the enemy AI too good, it'll just be counterproductive to a hack n slash series. It's basically like playing Warriors Orochi on Chaos, enemies have insane attack and they ignore defense, and you're basically dead....<<<<<<<
----------- You're jumping to conclusions, Im not saying they need to be too good, or smart they're zombies and monsters, they dont need to be smart, Im saying they should be more of a threat, rather than being next to no threat other than a select few. In onechan, if I have an itch, or if I get a phone call, I can literally stratch that itch or pick up the phone 90% of the time with zombies around me. The sluggishness of them is over done, by far. Making them more of a threat wont ruin the hack n slash way, it will just give you MORE incentive to kill them. Enemies are supposed to a threat at close range, at the very least.
And this warriors orochi game, I dont know what you mean by they ignore defense.. ? And youre basically dead.. so youre not good at them game I assume? Im not askig for an insanely hard difficulty.
>>>>Actually, they do, you just aren't paying attention to the right enemies....
I usually play on Violent on BSS, and I usually have to ALWAYS take out any zombie that specializes in long range first, or die due to the fact they actually lead their shots or wait for you to stop and shoot. And besides, do you REALLY want smart zombies?<<<<<<<<
-----You didnt pay attention, I said the zombies themself should attack more when at close range, yet you point out the enemies that attack at a range. The ranges enemies are very slow, but I agree (for the most part) with their sluggish attacks do to their range and power. Anyone playing on the harder difficulties should know to target them first. Their threat level is lowered when you do this, making them over all far less of a threat, and the non projectile zombies provide no challenge as you make your way over to the projectile zombies.
Some enemies combinded can be a bit of a threat. When you use you abilities though, its a cake walk.
Do I want smart, zombies? Sigh.... No, but them being a challenge would be nice, The monkeys, and spider guys actually attack you a bit. This is the kinda of attack rate the zombies should have, if not a little less.
>>>That's the same damn complaint for every hack n slash ever....and completely missing the point of the genre in general.... Not to mention, ignoring the enemies is a bad move for any game with RPG elements tied to it, Onnechanbara is one of them.....<<<<<<<<
------- If you consider DW a hack n slash, which Im pretty sure it is, then Im not out of line, as those enemies attack more than onechan. This is what Im saying.
>>>This is still just a demo, my friend, just wait some more before judging.... <<<<<
------ I was stating what I saw, if you look at my statement it was imcomplete, as anyone looking at a game and yet not played it.
"Kagura, it seems like they attack more.. Im happy about that, but it still looks like they are standing around too much. "
I wasnt making a absolute statement in how the enemies act.
And nothing wrong with getting a little happy about seeing something you like.
