- Dec 30, 2012 9:51 pm GMTI know it's coming out in Europe, but has anything been said about a US release?
- Dec 30, 2012 10:32 pm GMTNot yet, but knowing Koei, they will release this game in the US.

http://i43.tinypic.com/aexjcy.jpg - Dec 31, 2012 9:07 am GMTHopefully we will get it since we are getting Kens Rage 2, and we got the first one. If not there is importing i guess, but i would rather just get it here.
I see no reason why they can't localize though. They pretty much just have to add english text and subtitiles and slap it on to PSN with little to no work.
If the US doesnt get it though, it gives me a reason to again to hate the people who make One Piece games again though.

That's right, I killed your master and now I'm going to kill you too.

But the first time around, the EU version and the US version were announced simultaneously. This time around the EU version was announced a mere few weeks after the Japanese version and the US version is more than likely not coming at all.

Yeah, that could be a bad sign, but a US version could still be coming. Can't just completely rule out a US version because of that.
What about Kens Rage 2 though, did that get a simultaneous EU/US release announcment?
Still if no US version comes out its complete crap, and the same crap that Bamco pulled with the cruises. At least i this will be importable though.

http://www.facebook.com/MEmarauder - Marauder Shields Facebook page. - Jan 6, 2013 5:22 pm GMTAre people forgetting that the EU release of One Piece : Pirate Warriors was released as a boxed release? and the US version only ever received was the digital download released on PSN.
Nevermind the fact that the Japanese release isn't even out yet. I'd wait until Japan gets their copy first before writing anything off. It's fairly typical scenario for some games to be announced AFTER the one region gets it's release first.
The fact that Koei thinks it's not worthwhile to even release a Disc version of the game in US region is telling enough. I mean hell they did the same thing with Warriors Orochi 3, and is considered a major release amongst Musou fans.

The only reason Warriors Orochi 3 and One Piece Pirate Warriors didn't get a physical release is because they didn't have dubs and in America, Sony has a strict, no dub no physical release policy. This obviously does not apply to any non Sony platform.

http://i43.tinypic.com/aexjcy.jpg - Jan 7, 2013 1:43 pm GMTbuy Dynasty Warriors 7 Empries and it could increase chances. It's unknown if Dynasty Warriors 8 is being localized.
- Jan 8, 2013 5:03 am GMTlets hope
and lets hope for a dub so we can have a disc
im a dub fan so i really want dub (funimation) but sub is ok (better then 4kids crappy dub) my main concern is that they gotta have a disk cause these games just take too much space
the thing that will make everyone happy(as some like sub better) is the toggle to switch between languages so that would be their best bet
i bet dub and sub fans alike would agree cause i dont think anyone wants another 11GB
taking up their hard drive games that big should be disc not digital - Jan 9, 2013 5:34 am GMTnahongo posted...

Koei has stated that the reason they are not doing dual audio tracks is because it costs too much money to hire Western VAs (Americans charge more than the Japanese VAs do, and many are part of a union) to do the dub. That was the main reason they didn't dub MO2/WO3. Unless Sony wants to cover the cost of a dub (and how likely is that?), there will not be one. Which means no physical (disk) copy of the game outside of Japan (maybe Europe, too). - Jan 9, 2013 5:09 pm GMTAralakh posted...

it doesnt matter how much munny they need or whatever i like dub however im ok with sub others are ok with it too some like sub so that wont hurt the amount of baught games too much but either koei or sony has to give in cause no disc will affect the amount of buyers more and more this ant no small game it takes too much space to not be on disc sooner or later it might not be worth it to buy the game
plus unlike dynasty warriors koei is not the only company behind the game namco bandai is too since the own the rights to one piece games they can easily afford english va namco bandai does almost flawless in america and its worth the money cause their appealing to two fan bases - Jan 10, 2013 7:37 am GMTYou so casually forget that Koei and by extension OmegaForce is in fact the developer of these games, Namco Bandai publishing rights does not extend as far as you likely to believe.
Do not forget that even the first Pirate Warriors title was also published by Namco Bandai as did not receive a dub either in both US and EU region, so that again matters very little to the second game either.
As much as you want to disregard it, is in fact a matter of money. Localization and hiring voice talent is not cheap. If the first Pirate Warriors game didn't get luxury localization treatment, the second game is also not to receive as such. SCEA policy won't make a bit of difference if the game doesn't have a dub. Blame SCEA for draconian policy restriction, not other region is as backwards, considering SCEE getting a disc release and whatnot for first Pirate Warriors title despite the lack of dub.
If you want a disc for Pirate Warriors 2, your options are limited to getting the EU version once it releases, as there is nil chance in the US except for a digital download release like the previous game.

Even if its digital again, i really want it to come out over here.

- Jan 16, 2013 3:29 am GMTThe funimation dub is nonunion...
