I'm A Big Fan Of One Piece And I'm Now A Big Fan Of The Game.
Following the hit show on 4Kids TV, this game recreates the look and feel of the anime. It also allows you to play as 16 different characters each with unique moves and cool special attacks.
Graphics : The graphics are pretty cute and charming. Everybody is super deformed and cel-shaded which fits in with the atmosphere. Unlike great looking cel-shaded games like Dragonball Z Budokai 3, this game has nice mediocre graphics. Each stage have lots of detail added to them as well as the individual characters, which is a nice touch.
Sound : The music is exceptional, though the best part of the music is the intro. Each stage have it's very own background music depending on the area. Each character also have their same voice actors from the show, whether it's good or bad. The main menu, start menu, and character selection screen also have their very own background music,which is very cool too.
Gameplay : The controls are very easy to learn and master. Each character have over 20 different moves including 2 special attacks and one secret attack(an ultimate attack) which switches to a short cut scene and shows your character utterly destroying your opponent with their barrage of finishing attacks. A nice addition to the game allows you to grab items: bombs,fire pots,poison mushrooms,treasure chests,anything, to wreak havoc onto your opponent!
You can also interact with the environment and cause lots of trouble on to your foes! Although not the strongest point of the game it still offers a lot of punch. Each character have their own story which puts them in a series of 5 battles.
The opponents are not random so each character have there own set of enemies to duke it out with. Before each and every battle both characters talk. Once you beat the enemy,they talk and it's off to the next opponent.Though the story mode does lack some depth, it still allows you to see some very hilarious scenes!
After beating the game,there is a load of things to unlock! These things include:costumes,one piece art,movies,stages,mini games,and lots more. Of course, you can always play the mini games and try to beat the highest score for more replayability! This game will keep you busy for a very long time!!
