Saw This one coming...

When I first heard that an Okami Sequel was to be made, I flipped. I thought it was going to be another epic tale that'll keep me glued to the TV for hours upon hours...then I found out the original development team wasn't on it...and it was on the DS...Not the PS3 or Xbox360, or even a console in general.

My hopes and dreams were gutted, burned, and had their ashes used as an ingredient in compost soup.

While Okamiden CAN be fun. Anyone who played and loved the first game will always have a gnawing feeling of complete and utter disappointment.

Here's the things it does right -
Its Cute.
Issun makes an appearance.
Nostalgia (Even though 5 years ago ain't really all that long ago...)

Here are the things it does wrong -
Almost nothing new.
The game looks like crap.(DS fault.)
Clunky controls (DS fault.)
Celestial Brush is way more hectic than in Okami (DS fault.)
Characters aren't memorable.
No giant battles of awesome. (DS Fault.)
No Amazing Soundtrack. (Someone should be hanged for this...)
The Story is about as interesting as spilled soup. (Someone REALLY needs to die for this.)

I hate Okamiden. Not because it isn't a good game. If you're not a hardcore fan or are very forgiving, or never played Okami before. Go ahead and try it, maybe you'll like it. But any real fan of Okami will be horribly disappointed with Okamiden. It tries to be what its predecesor is...but it doesn't even begin to crawl out of it shadow.

Chibiterasu should have stayed home and grown up before embarking on an adventure...

Okamiden is an obvious cash-in on Okami's ever-growing fanbase. However, the fact that the original developers had nothing to do with it, plus its on the FREAKING DS. Completely dashes any hopes of it being as good as Okami.
