At first, there is nothing much to do, just spend the first resources but once you have a solid resources flow you can start both fighting with other player by choosing the develpment of combat researchs (and this is the fastest way to earn lot of resources, so you obtain half of the resources of a defeated enemy) or trying to colonize other planets (up to 8 colonies can be conquered). No one can destroy any other planet, nor the structures within it. Just ships or defenses can be destroyed, so anyone could ne playing for a life time. The battle never ends.
