Odama is the very definition of a good idea executed badly.

Odama is pinball/RTS game from Nintendo and Vivarium. Sound strange? Well, it is. While it sounds like an interesting concept, well, it turns out that it isn't. PROS-

The concept is totally different. It is like nothing you have ever seen before. You control the Odama, which is a giant stone ball in which you must hit with the pinball levers into the enemy troops. Sound strange? Well, it is. But it is one of the most innovation concepts ever.

Now, there is the subject of your own troops which are controlled with the GameCube Mic. You clip the mic onto the controller and you order your troops with voice commands. And surprisly, the commands are accurate and pretty cool. It's pretty to be able to order your troops around the map.

The overall look and design of Odama is really cool. From the feudal landscape to the great music. The whole game has a cool feudal theme with great feudal music and landscapes. The troops also look pretty cool

CONS-

The pinball part of the game is boring and broken. You'll find yourself constantly hitting the Odama into your own troop and basiclly screwing yourself over. And it's just overly frustrating. Now, as I said before the troops look pretty cool, well, at least in the overhead view. When you zoom in on the battlefield, the troops are just downright ugly. But the troops arn't the only things that look ugly. Zooming in on the landscape also reveals that the ground is just as ugly as the things on it.

And overall, the game is just downright frustrasting. The whole design and although innovative, concept is just not fun and very frustrating. Like I said before you'll find yourself killing your own troops and the ball will constantly get past you. There is just way too much to pay attention to.

Overall, Odama could have been a great game but was just ruined by a horrible design and vastly frustrating gameplay.
