Update: DLC
Posted: May 15, 2009 11:38 am PT
On 5/5/2009, Fallout 3's third $10 add-on, Broken Steel, was released in a broken state; a fixed version was released several days later. In this pack, you join the Brotherhood of Steel to rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave. It also allows you to return to the game after completing the main quest, and raises the level cap to 30.

''the best game ever made''? dont look the games by popularity but by the quality. those gamers are easy to make impressions... fallout3 deserves a better score anyway. there is vehicles on the wasteland? i dint see nothing yet

What is your problem, gizzy82? Stupid music?? What, crying because there is good, classic music instead of idiotic rap or lame-brained nu-metal? Get some culture if you can afford time out of your busy schedule of being a nobody.

It's a shame they've put real time combat in there, it just wont feel like Fallout as much as it could. Although, from what I've read, it still is a real Fallout.

And, I'm sorry, but you've got to be joking, the graphics on this game are brilliant

This game looked interesting until.. i saw him use his gun, the shooting in this game just feels undeveloped and not very realistic, like the guns just sits there and fires, it doesnt feel or look right

(hope people got what i meant)

to LordGeorgeton.. uhm.. trophies. Doesn't matter what platform, the achievement systems will be implemented in all. In my opinion there won't be any difference in any regard. Unless of corse you have a super beefy PC

Who isn't vulnerable when shot in the face?

  • bennyboy68

    Posted Oct 27, 2008 4:54 am PT

actually, LordGeorgeton, quite a lot of pc games include achievements as well, but seeing as the xbox achievements ultimately did nothing, it wouldn't really be a factor when choosing your platform.

  • dskingston

    Posted Oct 26, 2008 10:29 pm PT

I put a preorder in, never played the originals but this looks pretty unique as far as RPGs go.

    Posted Oct 26, 2008 5:40 pm PT

actually, megadeth12992, i think it'd be better for the 360, because you get the awesome game, and you get achievements to go with it!

You people need to read more before making a snap judgement. No, you CANNOT go through the game using the "stop thing" and making headshots. Its called "VATS" and it requires action points. Every time you use it, the "stop thing" that is, you lose AP's, no AP's, no "stop thing." AP's regenerate in real time. So yes, you could technically use the "stop thing" and then run about getting shot, waiting for your AP's to regen, but youll probably end up dead, a lot. Theres a reason that its got both FPS and the "stop thing..." Also, using the "stop thing" lets you use only your skills in the weapon; for instance you have a 54% in small guns and use the "stop thing" it goes by your percentage skill, plus any bonuses (like Psycho) or minuses (dmg to arm makes shooting harder) and then "rolls the dice"...You need to keep in mind as well, that in the demo reels youve seen, those characters are jacked up so that theyre going to hit every single time (or close to it) In the demo's it looks as if using VATS is a guarenteed hit. Not so. Using VATS is like using an aimed shot...you go for the head and a low gun skill and very likely you will miss. I dont know if they put critical failures in FO3 like they had in 1 and 2 but there was always a chance your gun could jam, blow up, misfire, etc. And for all you folks that dont think Bethesda did the FO series justice...all i can say is your insane. What Bethesda did was probably better than anything anyone else could have ever put out. Thankfully, you lot are the minority, and the vast majority is looking at this game like the next coming of Christ.

jonathon187 - actually there was more blood gore and violence 500 years ago. vegan_cannibal - yes you can

I've seen many vids on gameplay and it looks great, but what, it seems like you run around shooting at a couple enemies every once in a while. I hope there is a bit more to it than this

still even though there basicly using there award winning elder scrolls envoroment engine nothing will ever beat there scrolls series and a fps rpg will be interesting

"It looks good, but its not fallout
    They've ruined the series
They should got to jail for that" - correlo

I agree, this game looks great both in graphics and in gameplay, but it doesn't look like it will give the fallout universe justice. I'm sure it'll be a great post apocalyptic game.

    @ KScO

I for one don't care. My PC is a 1.5Ghz dual-core with 128MB Geforce 8400 GS. 1280x800 with low/medium graphics settings all the way, baby. FYI, I played Oblivion on a 1.6Ghz single -core Centrino laptop with 512 MB RAM and a geforce go 6200. Started at low. A driver upgrade and I got medium.

PS: Almost any modern game is playable on an intel 3100 graphics. You just need at least 1GB RAM and a 2Ghz dual-core processor. Low settings mind, but playable. A cheap dedicated graphics card can get you to medium.
