I'm a little disappointed with Gamespot right now, because this game doesn't deserve the low scores that they gave it.
What you need to realize when you buy this game is that you won't be getting any serious, quick-action gameplay, you'll instead be getting a slower paced, shooting "sim"...although it doesn't do a fairly good job at being a GOOD sim, mostly because it seems too easy to hit the bullseye. But aside from that, there's nothing wrong with this game, people!
I've read the other reviews (including Gamespot and IGN), and most of them complain about boring gameplay, bad graphics, and sloppy controls. Let me do the honor of clearing this up for you:
Gameplay: SLOWLY-PACED, people, it's not really "boring". The people who thought this game was boring were probably expecting it to be some sort of action FPS like Halo or Timesplitters when they bought it. It's just different, that's all.
Graphics: Bad graphics? Where? Everything looks great to me! The environments look great, just like they would in real life. The indoor ranges are big and open, and the outdoor ranges and sporting-clay areas all look just as they should. Everything is clear, and you should have no trouble spotting your target if you have a decent TV. Once again, don't believe the other reviews.
Controls: Sloppy? Uh, no. The controls are perfectly fine, and for some reason if you should think that they are not, you can customize them. Stop whining.
The Guns: I've heard people complain about the guns as well. Sure, they're all not completely realistic (how could they be, there's over 100 of them in the game), but they look pretty dang good to me, just like the real thing. Realistic reloading is also another plus that this game has. You actually see the person reload it, and not just the gun drop off the screen for a few seconds.
Overall, I would recommend this game for at least a rental (if you can find it)...of course, it's so cheap, you could just buy it. So go ahead, give it a shot, you might just like it.
