Possibly the worst game I've ever played.

User Rating: 1 | NRA Gun Club PS2
I should say off the bat that I have nothing against guns or gun owners. I own a lovely Beretta 92FS and a Sig Sauer P228 and enjoy target shooting. Given that fact, I am BAFFLED as to why anyone would want to plink (shooting cans etc...) via the PS2. If you want to shoot at targets, it's not terribly hard to do in rela life... this isn't Counterstrike after all. Like paintball games, you have to wonder why you don't get out and play.

That's all really academic however, but arguably this game was inspired by, or possibly programed by Charlton Heston himself. It's hard to imagine that this game was created by people NOT in the throes of a degenerative neurological condition. The first complaint is: THERE IS NO GAME. Ok... technically there are some carnival plinking games and the worst skeet shooting sim imaginable, but the lack of graphics, physics, sound, and control almost make for a metaphysical argument that this game doesn't really exist.

Beyond it's value as some kind of warped propoganda tool, anyone who likes to shoot will be instantly apalled by the fact that the gunplay in this game makes the physics and graphics in the Worms series look true-to-life. This game is to shooting what Pong was to tennis.

Oh, and it's ugly. The only game I can think of that looked and played even more poorly than NRA Gun Club was Gods and Generals... and the distance between the two is slight.

The bottom line is that this game is broken, and no one whether they be a gun fanatic or someone violently opposed to guns will see ANY merit in this game.
