Strategy gamer's delight.

User Rating: 9.6 | Nobunaga no Yabou: Zenkokuban NES
This game rocked my socks off when it came out. I was 13 in 1988 and had never played a strategy style game before. It was so deep in what it offered and had you carry out. It was incredibly challenging, and really tested me as a gamer. My friends at the time did not understand my fascination with this game. They all liked to play Ring King and Tecmo Bowl. This game was one of those rare games that let you know that if you liked it you were probably going to be a gamer for the rest of your mortal life. You actually had to keep your peasants happy with food and taxes, but you also had to make money. You had to raise grand armies and train them. I had to learn a whole new language with this game that i am fluent at now. I am not talking about a real language, but the language of the strategy game. It is unique, and most of us take it for granted now. If you have an NES, definitely pick this one up if you have never played it. If you have played it, but not in a while, get it again.
