Its great combat and memorable fights make up for the tediousness in between those moments.

User Rating: 7.5 | No More Heroes WII
No More Heroes is an odd game. Not just because it's a rated M third-party game on the Wii that's actually good, but because of this strange universe you'll find yourself immersed into the second you start playing. No More Heroes is the kind of game that core gamers didn't think existed on the Wii.

Gameplay, 8. The game plays like many other beat-em'-ups do; In each level you'll fight hoards of generic enemies. Travis Touchdown, the protagonist of this game, fights these enemies with his saber (no it's not a light-saber). After you get through all the hoards you will get a chance to save and then fight the boss. Each boss fight, from the first to the very last is well done and unique.

Much of the game you will not actually be fighting in these levels. There is an entrance fee to each level, and it's a pretty pricey fee. So to get the funds for it you will have to drive around Santa Destroy on your motorcycle doing odd jobs, assassination missions, and other things.

The combat is excellent. No matter how many times you do it, cutting some guy in half or decapitating him never gets old to do. All the boss fights are excellently done and unique.

Unfortunately I can't say the same thing about in-between when you're trying to get funds for the entrance fees to levels. Driving around the city may sound like it's fun, but it's actually very tedious and boring to do. It gets real old running people over real fast. The mini-games associated with the jobs aren't that fun and most of them involve simply mashing on the A button.

Presentation, 9. The graphics for this game are great. The way the world looks is very interesting. Characters all look great.

The music is also good. No variety however when you're playing just a normal level or doing an assassination but the boss bottles have some interesting tunes. The sound effects are excellent. The voice acting is also great.

Value, 6. This game should take 10-12 hours to complete the first time through. There is reason to complete this game a second time, however. There is an extra ending you can get by beating the game on hard, you have to earn hard by beating the game on easy or normal.

PROS
Great combat
Memorable and unique boss fights
Artistically great visuals
CONS
When you're not playing levels, which takes up a lot of the time playing, this game is very boring
A little short

No More Heroes is the kind of game most adult Wii owners should play. It's not the kind of game you'll go back and play over and over again, but the time spent playing it, even if it's short, should provide you with laughs and fun.
