Boooooooooring

User Rating: 5.5 | No More Heroes WII
With a drought of great mature titles on the Wii, I ordered "No More Heroes" with the intent of thoroughly enjoying every moment of this game. I was tired of the Mario games, tired of my daughter's kid's games, and tired of a lack of fun, single player games on the Wii.

I'm disappointed, to say the least.

No More Heroes has a lot of small, cute implementations, but sums up to a boring experience. The stylized graphics fit the Wii's lack of horsepower well, the premise of fighting as an assassin with a florescent tube light/lightsaber is cool, and the gratuitous use of blood and decapitations rounds out the bill. But then you start to play it.

This game is twenty minutes of fun (the assassination missions) punctuated into ninety minutes of boring. The overworld mechanic should have been scrapped entirely, as I spent too much time driving from point to point (while wrestling with the controls), too much time earning an exorbitant amount of money to even begin an assassination mission, and too little time in the action.

Rent this game; it doesn't live up to the hype of others begging for good mature games on the Wii. Keep begging, all.
