nintendogs is the kind of game you shouldn't buy. Instead, you should rent it (if DS games are rentable) or play your friends copy of the game.
At first, the game is pretty cool with the cute little dogs and you learn how to teach them tricks. Sometimes the voice recognition can be frustrating because it doesn't always respond and then you start yelling at the poor dogs through the speaker.
The dog contests can be really challenging which will keep you trying, but you can only do 3 contests a day which is another flaw.
Even though you must gain trainer points to unlock new breeds of dogs, you will quickly get bored with this game.
On another hand, the graphics of this game are AMAZING. The dogs have lots of detail.
Overall, you will be obsessed with it at first, but within a few days you will grow bored with it.
