It looks like a great game but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £250 plus an etra £40 for this game just yet. Maybe after a price drop...

I completely disagree with this review. The controls of these games were horrible. You spend more time looking at the tablet screen than your TV. Just get a portable system if you want to spend most of your time looking at a tablet screen. Also, twisting the controller this way that way just to steer a ship is ridiculous...Just give me some conventional controls, please. I hope upcoming Wii U games go for more conventional schemes. We don't need motion controls in every game. I like the idea of using the tablet to show maps, inventory, etc...But I don't want to have to aim at things by looking at the tablet screen.

@souljacker47 All you're hating on is the Wii U there. If you didn't want motion controls or having to looking at a second screen, buy a 360 or PS3.

@Defy_The_Fallen I'm not sure why people always assume your "hating" on a system when you have negative feedback about something in particular. Nothing is perfect. I am not "hating" the Wii U system. All I am saying is Developers seem more focused on making you look at the tablet screen and making it do things by twisting it all around. That is fine for some games. However, game companies should utilize the second screen when it is relevent to the type of game. If you have to look at the tablet screen more than your TV, why even bother having a TV? I don't hate the system. I have a Xbox 360, PS3, and now the Wii U. I think the tablet has a lot of potential. All I am saying is that it should be used to complement a game, not be the primary focus of one.  I would love to see a Metroid/Zelda game with conventional controls and then have the tablet screen be utilized for maps, inventory, etc...I would hate to have to move the character by tilting the controller and at the same time focus the camera by looking at the second screen.  That's not innovation, that is just silly. The Raymen Legends demo used the screen perfectly and even Nano Assault. Nintendo Land, however, I thought did not. That's my opinion and some will disagree, but that's life.

@Defy_The_Fallen  @souljacker47 Good points..My comments were definitely targeted at the game, not the Wii U itself. I understand it wants to show off the potential, I was just hoping they would have more games with standard controls - perhaps to demonstrate the new HD graphic capabilities. The games themselves, to me, weren't fun because I felt the controls a bit awkward - especially the Zelda game where you had to aim your bow by using the screen. Using the right control stick would have made much more sense here..

@souljacker47 You took it way too literally, such a response wasn't required at all. The 360 and PS3 comment was sarcastic, I'm pretty there's not a single person on GS that doesn't own at least a 360, PS3, or Wii.

Nintendo Land would seem the perfect game to utilize the gamepad more than anything, after all it's the game that comes bundled with the console in most cases, people are going to want to know the potential gameplay options of the new system they just bought. Sure, some games don't require the gamepad in a lot of cases. But your comment was targeted towards the mechanics of Nintendo Land, a game that for the most part, primarily shows off the kind of gameplay options the Wii U can do, henceforth it makes your comment looked targeted towards the Wii U's functions rather than the game.

And you say "Developers", yet the ones who made Nintendo Land is Nintendo themselves. I'm yet to see any other Wii U game that focuses more on the tablet than the TV, though I don't see why it's a problem.

That's how I see it anyway. My comment wasn't supposed to be malicious, so there was no need to get up in arms about it....

I have to say that I really didn't think the Wii U could inovate that much but after watching this I have a feeling that Nintendo's done it again....

@lingo56

It feels like an actual way to play and not a gimmick. People don't like the gamepad because they feel like it is another touchscreen device, but Nintendo was planning this years ago and were trying to be innovative. I think that really  shows in this game. It makes excited for the series showcased in this game.

This game looks more of a tech demo for the Wii U. I'm not really impressed.

Are you crazy! this game sucks! it's a 3 at best the only way you like this game is if you thought the WII was the best system of all time.

@westcoastwillam Do you have a Wii U? Have you played this game more than 5 minutes at a Wal-mart booth? No? Then don't review a game you know little to nothing about.

I rather enjoyed the review, however the music seemed a bit too loud so the reviewer had to talk louder. Perhaps I am imagining it but I found it to be kind of distracting.

@wumpscutnut Claiming that one person's work is inferior based upon thier sexual orientation? I'm pretty sure you know that's pathetic.

@wumpscutnut  How dare Gamespot pick editors on their love of video games!! They should pick them for what's in their pants (sarcasm).

@DarthLod You're so right man. Nintendo is truly pathetic. I mean they just can't seem to sell consoles. The NES and SNES were awful failures. Nobody played Super Mario or Zelda. The N64 was also pathetic. Look at Ocarina of Time and Mario 64. Those were sad attempts at making video games. The gameboy, and DS family have also been dismal. The 3dS is only out selling the Vita 22 million to 3 million. Then there was that crappy Wii that nobody bought. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, a Metroid Trilogy, 2 Zeldas, Xenoblade and the Last Story were a joke. Right?! Moron. You haters are garbage. Go jump off a cliff.

The other stand is also for the GamePad, for when you're not charging it.

shadowhunter0

@Weatherby_ I think you can charge it while it is on the stand not sure though I don't have a Wii U but that is what I thought someone from Nintendo said in one of the videos that Nintendo released and it seems reasonable and logical to charge it while it is on the stand

Would have been a little absorbing as a kid, mostly the colourful graphics and sound effects. Would bore me as an adult in twenty minutes. Much like the wii, I don't see too many games with much depth (though I wish I could have played twilight princess). Wonder how much third party support it will get. So far it doesn't seem like the WiiU versions of cross-console games are noticeably better. Watching ZombiU next to see if it has a good 'mature' launch title
