Ninja Crusaders is one of those incredibly good overlooked games. It is a one or two player game, and the two player is co-op. Basically you are a ninja who fights robots, and to help you along the way there are an assortment of weapons, the key thing about the weapons is that they allow you to change in to an animal based on what weapon you have. Respectfully the two greatest items in the game are the sword and the staff, the staff being the bird and the sword being the dragon.

The game itself is actually quite hard being in that you can only be hit once and then your character dies. Collecting more weapons will give you more lives, but this game is ideally a two player game for the reason that when playing solo and you take a hit, you will be sent back to the beginning of the level, where as two player you will regenerate in the same spot.

With all that in mind the game has many cool features like the ability to have your human character ride upon the animal characters, thus enabling some serious two player strategy.

The graphics for its time were well done and there are several environments in the five stages through out the game.

Overall It is a definite play for any old or new school gamer.
