Old-School action as tight as they come.

User Rating: 8.5 | Nightshade PS2
I loved Shinobi when it came out for the PS2, even with its over-the-top difficulty. It took me 2 years (almost) to finally slay the final boss of the game, which was just in time for Nightshade to come out. If there was one aspect of the game that I wished was fixed, that would be the aerial combat moves. Well, they fixed that problem in the sequel/spin-off, "Nightshade".

Don't get me wrong, Nightshade has its flaws. Most of these flaws though are from the games speed. Obviously, enemies were made repetitive and the graphics are kind of outdated because that's what makes the game so damn fast! There is not a faster game out there (DMC3 comes close, but looks a lot better).

In any case, the difficulty in this game, I think has gotten easier. Although...I am now officially a Shinobi veteran from the first PS2 game, so I could be wrong. Once you understand how to play these games, they become very easy. In any case, the best aspect of this game is the gameplay, and the difficulty. It reminds me of the glory days of the NES, where you were lucky to even beat a game. Now, its not a matter of skill, games become a matter of time. Meaning, beating the game is only a matter of time, not ability.

This game takes skill.

If you don't like it, you don't have skill....simple.
