A somewhat underrated title that needs to be recognized!

User Rating: 8.5 | Nicktoons MLB WII
Nicktoons MLB was recently released for Wii, Xbox 360, and DS, and is under appreciated by many gamers. I'm here to reveal what a great game this really is. First of all, the game comes with specially designed Topps cards by the game designers, featuring Major League Baseball all-stars versus Nicktoons characters. If you collect baseball cards, these are exclusive and an absolute must for collectors. After you pop in the game, you will find four modes. The first is Pick-up Game. You and a friend can instantly pick up your Wii remotes, pick your MLB team, add some Nicktoons and play a five-inning round. Yes, Nicktoons and MLB players come together in this game, one of the most interesting features. Anyway, Pick-up Games are really fun for families to just pick up and play, and have lots of fun. The second mode is Tournament. This is the main campaign of the game. You are either an actual MLB team or a Nicktoons team and you compete against other teams to get to the championships. Gamers must have a lot of patience to make it there, as it does get repetitive, but I'm sure baseball fans won't mind. The third is Showdown. You and a friend are either all-star MLB players or all-star Nicktoons and you face off in an actual great game of baseball. This is an awesome feature! The fourth and last is Distance Derby. Pick an all-star and hit targets for points. Once you get a three hit streak, go for the screens and you get an insane boost of points! The pitcher is a jerk, though. Sometimes he throws great fastballs, and sometimes they are just shoddy and mean. Now I will address the controls. Batting is easy, but pitching is a whole different story. You gotta aim, lock on, wind up, and throw. This requires a lot of gaming skill. And I have to wonder why they'd do this if this is a kid's game. I even had a hard time figuring it out at first, but once you do, you get better at the game each time. Lastly, the Card Collection menu. It's basically an acheivment tracker where you get cards for stuff you do in-game. The cards are just pictures of Nicktoons characters. Overall, this is a definite game to check out, do not listen to reviews.
