Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch User Review

- "Grows on you"
Bought the ps3 bundle of Ni no Kuni so I will include the ps3 hardware review here too.
Hardware: The bundle consist of a slim PS3 set and the game with a special Imajin code. The PS3 unit is so beautiful! Its pastel yellow colored and it have a carving of a character from the game. The controller came in same color so I recommend those who want to buy this to get another black controller to prevent the yellow one from getting too dirty from your sweaty hands.
Just like typical JRPG games, the game have many long cut scenes and dialogues that might make many of non-fan of this genre sleepy and bored while waiting for the game to progress. But for JRPG fans, this game is totally great and you HAVE TO get it ^^.
Story: The story begins with a kid named Oliver. He live with his sickly mother in a small town. One day, his mother died and while crying above the doll that his mother made, suddenly the doll came to life. It turns out that the doll is a fairy from Ni no Kuni (Second World), that was sealed by an evil existence called Jyabo. The fairy asked Oliver to come to Ni no Kuni to defeat Jyabo. Thus, begin their journey to Ni no Kuni...
As expected from Ghibli, the story was amazing. It's full of imagination and emotional dialogues.
Graphics: The graphics were simply amazing! The color was full of pastel colors like in a storybook. Music: No comment on this except GREAT!, you can find them in YouTube and hear the awesomeness yourself
Game play: Mostly you need to continue the journey according to the story. Some special points:
- There are side quests that you can pick up in towns and world map.
- Completing side quests will grant you with stamps that you can collect and trade with some neat abilities like 'walk faster', 'jump', 'get more items' and et cetera.
- Battle involves Imajin. Imajin is like monsters you can pick up on certain condition and turn them to fight for you.
- The battle system is more like combination of action and choosing options. So, you choose what you want to do (attack, defend, etc) and you can move the characters while they do the attack.
- The Imajin is a LOT like Pokemon. You can raise them, give them foods and treats, make them evolve with special stones, develop special abilities and you can put equipments on them.
PM me if you have any question~~

There is a lot going for this game, but it has a few key missing pieces that I just can't forgive it for.

With flavors of Pokemon, Studio Ghibli & old school JRPGs, Ni No Kuni is a very fine meal indeed.
