Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be available at retailers and through the PlayStation Store on the 1st of February 2013.

The European release date has been postponed for a week due to a shipping delay between Namco Bandai’s U.S. and European distribution networks. The game will still be in stores and available for download on January 22nd in North America.

We know how much you are looking forward to this title and we want to give you a present to make up for the extra week of patience. So we asked the wizards at LEVEL-5 to dig into their creature cage and they pulled out an adorable Draggle familiar: this lovely pet will be free to download throughout Europe on the day of launch.

And I suppose it won't be delayed in the U.S at all, right? I can't say I'm surprised, to be honest. I can't really complain at them, they're obviously trying to make up for it in some form with the free bonus for the extra wait.

But it's still annoying. You can always guarantee if there is a delay, it will hit Europe first.

Ugh....I may cancel my European Wizards Edition then.

If that "Draggle" they speak of is another unreleased Familiar then I'll be kind of annoyed Europe gets it for free if nobody else does. But at the same time it makes me think they'll just make them all available in the not-so-distant future. The question is at what price, if not free.

So I have to manage to hold my money for another week without spending it on anything else? Hopefully we get the new dlc code for those that pre-order online.

Yes.. It is confirmed that the free gift is actually DLC Familiar but it is still a secret. One thing for sure that it is not Griffy or Flutterby. They will announce soon what it is and how to get it.

I do believe that it will be available but comes with price except Griffy or Flutterby due to exclusivity unless Namco Bandai change the meaning of exclusivity on their dictionary.

A lot of companies release "exclusive" bonuses as DLC at a future date.

    And various others.
Granted, some companies have actually stuck to the exclusivity of DLC items, but there's a good possibility the exclusive familiars they are offering could be released as DLC in the future.

Yes, you will need to use the EU PSN store, as the content isn't compatible with DLC from other regions (or at least it hasn't been for any of the many games I've had to import from the US).

As Tiael said, "exclusive" really means nothing in this context. If we get some, we'll probably get all (at least all non-gold, gold ones are a separate issue but I bet they'll be released too).

Anyway I know it's a DLC familiar they're getting. But it didn't specifically say it's a brand new one to the West that cannot be obtained in-game. It could be some late-game familiar or something. It's probably brand new but that's what I meant.

Easy enough to create a european account, just fake and address etc, and download it on there, dlc is saved between accounts so you can use it on your normal account. Just to be safe, install it on your main account.

As for the day one dlc, if its anything like when lbp came out, you wont need the game, just go on day one, download the dlc, then leave it on your XMB until you get the game, after which you can install it.

Their Twitter and this description said that they asked the people at Level-5 to dig him up or something.

You don't need the game to download DLC for it.
