Although no without its problems, NHL 94 is very entertaining to say the least.

I know that after the travesty by the name of NHL Stanley Cup every hockey game will seem fantastic, but NHL 94 doesn't need to be compared with it.
There is not much I can say about this game. It follows the best traditions of the genre: the controls are smooth, passing and shooting is great. The judge seems a bit biased though (he has something against normal tackles).
Again, not much to say, NHL gameplay at its finest. There are some problems though. The A.I. is retarded, your teammates will offside you many many times and spoil good attacks. The goalkeepers seem a bit overpowered and it's not easy to score a goal.
The graphics are okay, better than... NHL Stanley Cup! Mainly because in this game the ice is actually white, not red-ish. The music is really cheesy, it is a famous track I can't remember but it has nothing to do with hockey.
Apart from tournaments, there is a shootout mode. The shootouts are one of the most exciting parts of this game as they have been in many other hockey games.
NHL 94 is another great hockey title, which is very necessary on the SNES after... NHL Stanley Cup!!!
