Enjoyable Hockey Game, but Lacking a Few Fun-Factor Elements
This is a fairly decent hockey game but I can't really offer a comparison to any of the other hockey games available for PS2. Instead I'll list the pros and cons about this game.
Pros: Good graphics, smooth gameplay. Multiple season and franchise modes. Online play. Trophy awards are great. Good game commentary.
Cons: Confusing trade system. Lame front office. Can't create your own player (i.e. with your name!!!) onto a team. Extra skilled moves are too elaborate to do in such a fast paced game or against more difficult opponents. Too many options to customize the game (angles, ice speed, and so on). Some may like this but the game is not standardized.
Overall a good game, and it may be more a realistic hockey game than the others available, but I can remember having more fun with the old EA NHL games of the past. I miss having a player named after me and being the offensive leader of the NHL!
