Doesn't fix the problems from past years and adds some new ones.

The NHL series is hot and cold; NHL 13 was very good but not revolutionary. NHL 14 is a step back. The visuals are mostly the same, the audio is as terrible as it's been for the past four years (the commentary is pretty much identical, including mispronunciations of players' names) and the AI is truly dreadful.

The 'Live the Life' option is supposed to be realistic in that, as a third-liner, you shouldn't expect to play the whole game. Except that the AI is so terrible that you'd better stay on the ice the whole time - your team won't score and your goalie is a sieve, so you'd better score on pretty much all of your shifts.

The Be A GM mode is mostly the same as last year, with trades that aren't justified and crippling punishments for failing to make a deal with a team.

The faceoff mechanic is sketchy at best, the players' speed is all off (how is Tyler Myers beating a loaf of bread to the puck, let alone Nazem Kadri?) and the shooting is all over the map.

If you have NHL 13, keep it. Don't buy this.
